The Installation DIE GÖTTIN DER UNSTERBLICHKEIT. A Black Citroen DS. As a man sits in the driver’s seat, the point of views extends through the rear view mirror into various incarnations of the past.
The Film: „Die Farbe der Unsterblichkeit“ tells of the confrontation with cancer in the form of an autobiographical interview.

As part of the ToxicDreams installation series The Mystery of the Enchanted Cars, this installation featured a car with a red button that activated the inflation of two giant balloons. Visitors sat in the car, experiencing the growing claustrophobia, and mounting adrenaline as the pressure in the car grew towards the balloons’ explosion
Man steigt in das Auto. Scherben, angesengte Autositze und Benzingeruch deuten auf eine gewesene Explosion hin. Das gedrückt halten eines roten Not-Aus Knopfes startet ein Video das die Vorbereitung zur Zerstörung dieses Fahrzeuges zeigt. Gleichzeit blasen sich durch das gedrückt halten des roten Knopfes langsam Luftballone im inneren des Autos auf. Musik wird über die Ballone direkt auf den Körper übertragen und verstärkt die Empfindung von Enge, in der man sich nun befindet, auf ein maximum des erträglichen. Die Aktion endet nach ca. 6-10 Minuten mit dem platzen der Ballone und der Freude überlebt zu haben.

Loosely based on an image from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, I teamed with Michael Strohmann on this installation of 18 cardboard viewboxes that contained Slides.
When the sky digs itself out of the earth, because it doesn‘t have enough room, spaces of joy and fear open up. For me the Wolkenspiel cycle is a filmic, playful, interactive exploration of space that is never what it is supposed to be.
